This is my principle of design cardboard sculpture, which I created using acrylic, hot melt, and cardboard. I created this sculpture with the idea of patterns. I created a few separate patterns throughout the piece, with the boards on the bottom, branching tree limbs, and repeating swirls. I also wanted a sense of unity throughout my piece, so I painted various parts of each pattern. The purpose of this work was to show that you can find pattern in anything, and that you do not have to be a master artist to make something worthwhile. I have very little experience with cardboard as an art form, and I was still able to create a meaningful piece of work. I do not personally like this work of art as much as others I have made. I typically work with clay, and this was more outside of my usual medium.
